AAM Names Fred Solomon Vice President, Global Procurement and Supplier Quality Engineering

DETROIT, July 22, 2019 – American Axle & Manufacturing has named Fred Solomon, Vice President Global Procurement and Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE). In this role, Solomon has responsibility for AAM’s global procurement activities including supplier quality and performance.

Before joining AAM, Solomon was Director, Mopar Purchasing and Supplier Quality, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and was responsible for all sourcing and supplier quality operations for FCA’s Mopar division.  Prior to this, he was the Director, Global Powertrain Purchasing for FCA and the Director, Global Standardization and Benchmarking for FCA.

Solomon started his career at American Motors which soon became part of the Chrysler Corp. During his more than 32-year career at Chrysler/FCA, he held positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, supply chain, international, product development and purchasing.

Solomon has an undergraduate business degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University.
