Three AAM Facilities Receive ISO 50001 in 2016

In 2016, AAM's Advanced Technology Development Center (Detroit, MI), Oxford Forge (Oxford, MI), and Rochester Hills Technical Center (Rochester Hills, MI) joined the list of global AAM locations that have earned the ISO 50001 certification for improving their energy use and utilizing energy efficient equipment, systems and processes.

The ISO 50001 is a voluntary certification that provides a framework through which an organization can set and pursue its own goals for improving energy performance. Certified companies must manage and improve energy use and consumption, procure energy efficient equipment, systems and processes, and develop an energy management plan.

“We are proud that AAM now has seven facilities certified in ISO 50001,” said Afif Bitar, director—Facilities & Power Distribution. “AAM remains committed to increasing energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of our global facilities."
